Supporting Local Foster Care Youth at CASAOC with Susan Kenny

CASA OC is an organization that provides volunteer special advocates and pairs them with foster youth in Orange County. Chief Advancement Officer for CASA OC, Susan Kenny educates the Mainspring Family Wellness community about the foster care system, becoming a special advocate, and how all of us can support this very important organization in Orange County. A thought-provoking discussion with inspiring stories that offer much-needed perspective as we move into this Thanksgiving season.

Susan Kenny

Susan Kenny is the Chief Advancement Officer of CASA Orange County. After 10 years in the for profit world, Susan found the opportunity to marry her love of volunteering and business development to start a fundraising career with the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Over the last 17 years in the nonprofit sector, she has created long-lasting relationships with donors, nonprofit partners, volunteers, and client families all over the country. Susan has been responsible for business development, special events, grants and cause-related marketing campaigns. She has worked with teams to coordinate health care clinics and summer camps. During her time with Ronald McDonald House Orange County, she collaborated with other nonprofits to provide a full spectrum of services for families with critically ill or injured children. In addition, Susan was instrumental in the national partnership between The Roofing Alliance, National Roofing & Contractors’ Association and Ronald McDonald House Charities. She is one of the founding members of 100 Women Who Care OC, Orange County Advisors in Philanthropy Board member, committee member for OneOC’s Spirit of Volunteerism and the Greater Irvine Chamber of Commerce’s Women of Influence event. Susan has a BA in Communication from the University of Arizona and a Human Resources Certificate from the University of California, Irvine. She has volunteered her time with the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Project Cuddle, Leukemia & Lymphoma’s Team in Training, Smith Elementary School and Huntington Valley Little League. She is a proud mom of 2 amazing boys and loves her Arizona Wildcats.
